One Rank One Pension for Teaching Staff of Kerala State Medical Education Department

Kerala State Government had earlier revised the pension of the State Government Pensioners. However, the teaching staff of Medical Education Scheme who retired prior to 01.04.90, were deprived of the benefit of one rank one pension solely for the reason that the central scales were introduced subsequent to their retirement.

After having examined the matter in detail, Kerala State Government has decided to fix One RankOne Pension in respect of the Teaching Staff of Medical Education Department who retired prior to 01.04.1990, the pension will be revised taking into account the scale of pay as show in table below as the corresponding revised scale, based on the scale of pay of their counter parts in other medical education departments in pay revision 2004.

The teaching staff of Medical Education Scheme who retired prior to 01.04.90 are eligible for State Dearness Relief Only. These orders will have effect from 01/07/2009.

Will the Indian Government, under an Ex-bureaucrat Prime Minister and also under strict control of highly indifferent, corrupt, unaccountable, worst rated and self serving bureaucracy, will ever be magnanimous enough to extend this benefit ie OROP to the most deserving services viz the defence forces of India, inspite of it having been strongly recommended by the Parliamentary Committee under the Chairmanship of Rajya Sabha MP Bhagat Singh Koshyari, with other Members of the committee as, Ram Vilas Paswan, P Rajeeve, Nandi Yelliah,Paul Manoj Pandian, Avinash Pande.

Unfortunately, only under the present Government has a Committee of Secretaries comprising bureaucrats, has ever superseded a Rajya Sabha committee of MPs. Isn’t it a great Indian pity?
