We all know what corruption has seeped deep into the body of the nation. It has become the single most dangerous threat to our National Security. I am sharing some of my ideas with you through the attached article and my letter to the Prime Minister sent on 14 Jan 2011.

I request you to circulate this mail to all your friends and acquaintances and exhort them all to join the crusade against Corruption. You must be aware of the on-going efforts of the *Gandhian Satyagraha Brigade* for the past five years. While there have been assurances from the PMO, Law Minister and Mrs Sonia Gandhi, nothing has commenced yet in the right direction even after the Government having accepted recommendations of the Administrative Reforms Commission as regards our following demands.. A group of freedom fighters led by the nonagenarian Gandhian, *Shri Shambhu Dutta* who went on *'Fast unto Death'* had to call off the fast in response to persistent requests and assurances from Swami Agnivesh, Ms Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan and others at Jantar Mantar on 30 Jan 2011. Our demands are:-

(a) *Appointment of an effective Lokpal. *(Please note that the present draft bill circulated by the Govt suffers from serious inadequacies and will render the institution of Lokpal powerless and defunct from the very start. It, therefore, needs to be substantially improved before adoption);

(b) *Confiscation* of illegally acquired property and
.
(c) *Disqualification* of candidates seeking election to Parliament and State Legislatures against whom criminal cases have been registered/charge sheets filed.

We are happy in a way that a good number of NGOs and eminent social activists like Anna Hazare, Swami Agnivesh, Swami Ram Dev, Ms Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan, Sri Sri Ravishankar and many more cuttring across regional or caste/communal affiliations are joining the crusade - and for a good reason. I request you to kindly join us and criculate it to all your acquaintances to build up a massive nation-wide response against CORRUPTION in higher echelons of power.
