Are we fast drifting toward Oligarchy rudderless perverted form of Democracy

Elected Oligarchy of filthy rich through manipulated Voters lists and purchased Vote Bank.

(A).For any prosperous Secular Democratic state three indictors need to be evaluated
*
1. Degree of interference by the state in religious affairs
*
2. How Vigilant are the Citizens?
*
3. Degree of strong and effective Local governments

(B) After Six decades of Independence of India
*
1. All the three indicators are nearly non-existent in Secular Democracy of India. Taking full advantage of insensitivity of citizens both Central and State governments openly interfere in religious affairs for their vote banks. Umpteen examples can be cited.
*
2. Insensitivity, lack of will, culture of silence and feudal mai-baap culture continue amongst the sovereign citizens even after six decades particularly in urban areas. Urban elites openly employ illegal migrants (nearly 20 millions) for their domestic help, in shops, factories, farm houses etc endangering security of their own country.
*
3. Even the Amendment numbers 73 and 74 to the Constitution of India confirm ’Our local governments have become weak and ineffective” Need to make these strong and vibrant was accepted by Parliament in 1991 BUT owing to insensitivity of citizens amendments have not been implemented even after 18 years of approval by Parliament. Citizens have shown no interest in the implementation of Amendments #73 and 74.
*
( C ) Have we got social, political, economic freedom (Swaraj) which is our birth right in democracy?
*
Soon after Independence the concept of Swaraj was thrown in the dustbin, by Socialist Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and other leaders enamored by the then Soviet model and they were determined to banish poverty which contiues. We were shackled for decades through license-permit inspector raj.
*
They killed export oriented international trade and created a cocoon of self sufficiency which led to sudden rise of corrupt practices and India remained mired in poverty.
*
With a view to control corruption and hang the corrupt people from the nearest pole, Pt. Nehru and other golden hearted leaders made India the land of thousands of controls. Those who failed to become Inspectors to monitor the controls to become filthy rich in a very short time went to IAS and other Central Services.
*
Without any basic knowledge of business these Inspectors and IAS officers started rendering commercial advices with vested interest to businessmen. Corruption spread in all areas including, education, religion, spiritual institutions and sudden mushroom growth of dealers of hope was visible. It still continues. India is now perceived as one of the most corrupt countries.
*
Entrepreneurs were forbidden to start a business without a license which involved over the table and also under the table Fee. Golden hearted Socialists were convinced that prosperity would be best achieved when nobody had to do anything except what they were told to do. Inspector raj was to protect you from foreign capitalists and predators. They were enamored by Soviet model which crumbled like a house of cards in early 1990’s. These golden hearted leaders prospered and put their filthy lucre in Swiss banks fearing crumbling of their Indian model.
*
All social welfare indices like literacy, infant mortality, life expectancy, poverty and good governance etc became the worst in India compared to all other Asian and world democratic states. Indian Bureaucracy is now rated the worst in Asia. Several lakhs crores Rupees leaking subsidies have ensured that poverty should remain as fixed purchased vote bank. These golden hearted netas found wonderful method of siphoning off several thousands crores of filthy lucre in the name of Poverty Alleviation. Social justice has become a dream in India. All possible methods have been devised to ensure fixed/purchased vote banks, manipulation of voter’s lists, keeping local governments weak and ineffective, provide reservations/subsidies on religious basis to minorities and keep control on temples of majority religion in Secular India.
*
Need of the Hour for our survival and welfare.Assertive social will of people to force government to do right job. Develop healthy community life through effective local governments and create Society that Cares and Shares.Above all the sovereign citizens to Rise and perform their vigilant duties. “Eternal Vigilance is the Price of liberty.”
*
Kindly feel free to improve these thoughts for the welfare of our present and future generations. Remaining silent is the greatest sin in democracy as the silence of citizens is the major cause of Democracy drifting toward Oligarchy and later to Mobocracy and even Theocracy of fanatics..................
