Denial of OROP by Government

Dear Friends
.
1. Copy of letter written to Sh. A K Antony, RM is enclosed for your information please.
.
2. The Govt continues to deny us our legitimate demand of OROP. Almost all PMs, RMs, all party parliamentary committees on defence and representatives of all political parties have been in favour of granting OROP. Then, why is it that it has not been granted yet? It seems that the bureaucracy has had the last word for denying the same to the military every time and the political system has been accepting it.
.
3. It is time that we all ‘Unite’ and take the issue of OROP to its logical conclusion. Our next event, “a big Rally” at Jantar Mantar New Delhi will be held on 28 Nov 2010 from 10AM to 3 PM where the medals will be collected and memorandum will be signed in blood by ESM for depositing the same with the President. Please circulate this information to maximum ESM across the country.
.
With Regards,
.
Jai Hind
.
Yours Sincerely,

Dear All,
.
If we have accepted the injustice from 1973 onwards till date, either through ignorance, gentlemanly behaviour or sheer lethargy, not taken a recourse through the Courts of Law , its now 3 1/2 decades over, and just quoting the past history , will it take us anywhere?
.
Move the Courts now even, instead of returning medals and signing in blood. With case studies available, precedence having been set, there is no reason for a speedy justice not to be delivered in our favour. Instead of waisting further any money by the Group on such gatherings, utilize this for legal expenses, which should be much lesser with the AFT in place.
.
Regards and for a quick consideration by the members.

Dear Veteran Sachar
.
As usual, you are totally stuck on your viewpoint -- and REFUSE to imagine that any other view point could have any validity!
.
You must have said this at least a dozen times -- but, like a little puppy, who has the slipper in its mouth, you refuse to let go!
.
May I suggest that we have actually heard this one from you enough times, already?

Dear Veteran Sharma,

OROP To gaya, Ab Mouth Ka Slipper Bhi chinna hai. It cuts both ways, I think the other side too is like a bigger chappal that the Bull Dog is not letting go. What have we achieved in 2 1/2 years, nothing. And I shall continue saying that OROP will not be achieved this way. What's wrong with sticking with your conviction? As you are doing. Let us not get into crooked thinking of ' He is Obstinate, You are Stubborn and I am Firm '. I can promise you even if the OROP is not through, this Group would continue for whatever reasons.

Dear CKS,
.
I totally agree with VPS. It seems, for OROP, we are banging our head against a concrete wall. From what the RM has written to Rajeev Chandrashekhar, I am convinced that this ruling government is totally against the IESM, especially the officer class, just for one reason. So,in all probability govt would not concede OROP for the officer class at least.
.
There are better chances of getting it through the AFT and the Supreme court. Latest letter from Gen Satbir, I feel, is likely to meet the same fate. So, ultimately we should get prepared for going to AFT. Case taken up by Cdre Sukhjinder's could be trial case.
.
Best wishes and cheers.
.
