Dear Rajan Sir
.
A very humble request. Can we move on.I thin we have heard you on this point umpteen number of times.
.
I must however admire your Doggedness, determination and adamancy .Where did you pick these up? Your are not an Infanteer like Gen Kadyan.
.
Sir can we please have individual attacks out of the race for the election. Please remember Gen Kadyan was for no fees from JCO and below yet the IESM had those fees?So the point is IESM is not run by him at his whims and fancy but there is a group of which you are a member too.The only difference is you like to have your own fiefdom down south rather than strengthen the IESM.Remember how you ensured that your rally in Bangalore was fixed on the same date as the one in Delhi in Mar 2010.Remember the dictatorial manner in which you dictated the fee at the South Rally recently .remember who invited not the Chairman nor the VC of IESM to chair the so called meeting of IESM South?Remember who appointed Conveners for areas beyond his jurisdiction as per MOA despite being a founding member.?
.
Come on Sir you can fool some people some time but not all people at all times.
.
I once again request you to not act in a manner that is dictatorial like the Mahatma whose actions have lead this country so such a pass.
.

Dear Rajan
.
You have decided to mention me too, in your dispatches!
.
You say: "do you know what Wg Cdr CK Sharma, the Honble Treasurer of IESM said? The Honble Treasurer said, Send all your collections to HQ IESM; and, for your own expenditure, raise money locally.
.
Thank you for quoting me partly -- this is the best and easiest way to confuse everyone and obfuscate things!
.
The system that I have taken over, as of March this year, already had the above aspects in place and that was the NORM of IESM. As such, I did not say anything that was not already public knowledge. However, I had also said VERY CLEARLY the other part: that you can send in the bills of your expenditure and IESM will take a call on how much of the expenditure may be reimbursed, depending on the availability of funds.
.
But then, I suppose, all this would not have fitted into your theme!
.
If I may also mention a small thing: As of now, as per the MoA and Society Rules, Chapters in the States etc cannot be opened and nor can any bank accounts started in the name of IESM.
.
However, you are well within your rights to forma a totally independent ESM Association and then, once you reach the specified numbers etc, pay for the members of your Association at the rates laid down to become Associate members of IESM -- and these rates, you will be pleased to know, are quite similar to the ones that you are espousing! So, why not go for that?

Dear Friends,
It is indeed painful to go through the correspondence going on between some parties, before the AGM convened for 27 November 2010. The concept of healthy discussions is always welcome, but going into unsavoury debates on issues is undesirable, and these if had been sorted out peacefully and without much ado, would have been even better.
Unity and thorough understanding amongst all constituents of the IESM should be our primary objective. Settlement of certain of our important issues should be our top priority and there should be no question of undue rigidity whatsoever from any quarter. In an organisation which certainly is not dictatorial, majority views must be respected and should prevail, irrespective of by whom the issue has been raised.
I am a strong advocate of unity amongst all ESM organisations for forming a formidable front, and have communicated my views in no uncertain terms, at every possible opportunity, but egoism seems to be playing a big part against this. I conveyed my views to the IESM Governing Body, AVM Mishra of IESL, as well as, Col Inderjit Singh, one of the most veteran soldiers dealing with OROP. However, nothing fruitful seems to have emerged so far. I hope good sense would prevail after all.
So, my fervent appeal is that, let us at least, sort out all the existing differences and problems amongst the IESM, peacefully and amicably, at the existing forums, and not work on personal egos to disintegrate or disunite the organisation, which has been formed and built up to its present status, with a lot of efforts and difficulty for a very noble cause.
I also suggest that an annual, half yearly or quarterly programme of action with targets, must be formulated at the AGM, with responsibilities given to various committees, so that they can act accordingly. This would add to the confidence of all the members of IESM, in the governing body. I am sure the problem of funds also would get sorted out gradually.
With all my best wishes for a peaceful, purposeful and result oriented AGM.

Fights are inevitable in any organization which does not have 100 % transparency in its decision making & financial dealings. Major decisions should be always through majority participation(I am not accusing any one.I am stating a fact)
ReplyDeleteI would request all members to demand such a system because we all deserve it.
Unlike the past technology enables such systems today. All we require is a change of mind set.
Any one who introduces such a system will have unquestioning obedience from all people who want IESM to be a single rallying force for the ESMs.The money will never be a problem for such a
system.
I had earlier posted how such a system can be set up with the use of Mobiles.(which every one has)
While asking for financial transparency there were sarcastic comments from one of the members of the core group & the same person has been making appeals for donations. While i did not react to that & does not want to start a slanging match,I do hope that every one will will want IESM to build such a system.
I would even expect all people standing for elections to give out their manifesto & how they plan to implement it.
I would have also preferred direct elections to the post of Chairman,Vice Chairman & Treasurer.
Venkatesh
Dear Venkatesh,
ReplyDeleteI very much appreciate your views and comments. Well yes, transparency in the entire system in all its dealings is one of the basic requirements. Differences of opinions, with free frank and forthright ex-pression of views, would and should also be there and it is a healthy trend. The need is for resolving the diffrences with mutual exchanges of ideas, without bringing in personal egos. Once the confidence level improves the level of obedience and functioning would also be better.
People who do not respect or accept but just reject suggestions, should better remain out and the general body should be aware of such people to keep them out.
Let us hope situation improves.
