This is serious proof of Pakistani state’s malevolence towards India, not a matter to be just laughed off.
.
Pakistan Army uploaded a list of its martyrs on its official website a couple of days ago. Here is a snapshot of a page on the website as it appeared on 13 Dec 2010 12:32:44 GMT (via Google’s cache of http://www.pakistanarmy.gov.pk/modules/shuhadascorner/embed_shuhada_detail.aspx?id=5838 ).
.
The website was then taken off by Pakistan army for technical reasons. Indian Express further reports:
.
When it came back online in the evening, the site was slow, and the record of Zulfiqar Ahmed was missing from the database of ‘martyrs’. Also missing from the database at the Shuhada’s Corner were the names and ‘martyrdom’ details of all soldiers whose unit had been earlier listed as ‘ISI’.[Indian Express]
.
However you can still view Google’s cache of the webpage, which has since been taken off by Pakistan Army, here. Moreover newsreports further confirm that the death did occur at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.
.
…top sources in the capital’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital confirmed that the death did indeed occur. The ISI operative, Naik Zulfiqar Ahmed of the HQ 30 Corps, was referred to the hospital by the Pakistan High Commission, which also paid his medical bills, the sources said. He was admitted in the hospital’s nephrology department on November 1, 2007, and died “after fifteen days, most probably from kidney-related problems”, a source said. No foul play was suspected, he added.
.
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is empanelled with the Pakistan High Commission, and “Zulfiqar came as one of the beneficiaries,” said a hospital source. It is not clear who claimed the body, or whether last rites were performed in India.[Indian Express]
.
The very first question that comes to any sane mind is: what kind of professional army trains its soldier to be a suicide bomber. So much for the calls by many international analysts that Pakistan Army is the only beacon of professionalism in a rapidly failing country.
.
Furthermore, there are two ways to look at this story. One way — the easier one — is to ridicule it and laugh at the absurdity of an ISI suicide bomber dying in a Delhi hospital and being officially listed as a martyr at Pakistan Army’s website. But that would be to diminish the significance of the proof handed over to India on a platter by the Pakistan Army. No WikiLeaks, no RadiaTapes could have produced this kind of damning evidence about Pakistani state’s use of terror as an instrument of its foreign policy. Not only was the Pakistan Army and ISI involved in sending a suicide bomber to India, the diplomatic immunity provided to its High Commission in New Delhi was being misused to cover for such dastardly acts.
.
Thousands of Indians, both in India and overseas, have lost their lives due to the terror perpetrated, promoted and supported by Pakistani state and its agencies. It is high time the government of India stopped shy of highlighting Pakistani’s state’s malevolence towards India and Indians openly and loudly in international forums. This is the least the Indian government owes to the memory of those Indians who have suffered brutally at the hands of Pakistani terror machinery.
.
Let us ridicule the Pakistan army for its stupidity but let us, not for a moment, forget the venom, malice and toxicity of Pakistani state’s intentions towards India and Indians.
