New Year's best wishes for the Defence Veterans.

Thank you very much Col K Mohandas for a lovely, a very thoughtful and wishfully realistic greeting card. I would like your greetings to be seen by as many Veterans as possible.

All the very best wishes for the New Year to you and your family as well.

A HAPPY NEW YEAR

A message for the Nation from Karan Kharb

Dear Friends,

Thanks for your greetings.  I reciprocate your kind gesture and wish you a very Happy New Year 2012. On the last day of 2011, it could be a worthwhile exercise to examine our role retrospectively. Such an exercise may enable us to refresh and re-assign a role to ourselves for the New Year 2012. In your self-assigned New Role, I wish you a very Happy New Year full of success and rewards. I pray to God to shower upon you the very best of everything you ever desired and needed in life. But that can be possible only in a CORRUPTION-FREE India.

Corrupt politicians are dividing us along caste, communal and regional lines by bribing us through reservations, subsidies, petty freebies etc only to garner votes at the cost of national security, unity and development.  As per media reports (Times of India Ahmedabad, dated 8th June 2011), India not only tops the list of nations having tons of black money stashed in Swiss banks but its cache of black money there ($ 1546 bn) is far more than the combined total of next four countries in the list of black money deposits namely, Russia, UK, Ukraine and China ($ 1056 bn). Contrast this with our poor farmers committing suicides, hapless pregnant women delivering babies at hospital gates and destitute tribal masses fed up with the callous administration finding solace under Maoist rebellion.

Interestingly, the Congress led UPA and the BJP led NDA have more or less equitable share in the 162 sitting MPs in the present Lok Sabha charged for various crimes, although more skeletons continue tumbling from the Congress closets.

Like a staircase, corruption cannot be cleaned up from bottom to top; we have to start from the top, ie political corruption. The whimper in which the parliamentary debate drama on Lokpal Bill ended in the Rajya Sabha is a mockery of Democracy and an insult to the Nation. They must stop treating the People ("We the People of India....") as if we were monkeys at their mercy!

Let's stop dancing to their tunes. I propose a New Year Resolution today: "Unite against Corruption and do everything in our power to fight it." Uniting can start at home, neighbourhood, clubs, associations, RWAs, bazar, schools, colleges, Gyms, Cafes, Tea bars, Coffee shops, Parks, Jogging Tracks, buses, Metro....until the buzz transforms into a crescendo to awaken conscience of the Nation from its slumber.

We must come out to vote and rally around a good Cause. The least we can do is to show our 'disapproval and hatred' against anyone we know to be corrupt in our own way without being physically violent.
