Mustn't all Good Things Come To an End!?
.
.
Dear Veterans,.
The time now is 17.47PM
.
However, Just 7(Seven) minutes ago, I just happened to stumble on a Spl Pgmme being aired by DD-1 in which The Air Chief was interacting with School Kids . COAS did engage the children quite well , motivating them in a manner suitable for the occasion.
.
To a pointed querry from one of the Kids;" Sir there is lot of talk about OROP. What is your view on this?" The COAS who is also the Chair of the COS Committee replied; "I think it is a good idea. But we have to see whether the Govt can afford it or the Govt will go BANKRUPT".
.
To another querry;" Sir you are interacting with Beauraucrats & the Govt at the highest level. What is the experience like?" he said;" You see b4 becoming Air Chief I thought very poorly of them because I never had any direct interaction with them. But now I realise that they , especially the ones at the top are really, really good. They are extremely knowledgeable, perhaps more than us about our job". (Hum! already booking the ticket for a post retirement - - - - - - ) HOWZZAT!!.
.
With well wishers like, this do we & our cause need enemies?

Bull's EYE.

All this can be extrapolated to arrive at the Naked Truth of our current plight. The saddest part is that no serving as on to-day would buy any of these tales , and therefore we have to continue as suckers.
.
See you all in the next rebirth , may be with better prospects like our neighbours.
.
With sincere Regards and wishing all the worst.

Dear VPS,
.
Well said and how right you are? I think we can now do different and better things than searching mails day after day, hoping to hear any good news about our cause from the Government, IESM or the IESL or any other quarter. We certainly had no hopes on the serving Chiefs as it is. We can at best now have a hope on the Apex Court and its directions after 8 Nov. I have a fear, that even if a fresh Pay Commission is formed, the present hierarchy of Defence Services wont do much for the Veterans. The Veterans, if they can include a sensible representative will perhaps have to fight their own battles, especially of justifying the OROP.
.
Before the next rebirth we have to have a transit halt at e Hell or Heaven, where also our claims of stay may be rejected, because we have been idling/doing nothing worthwhile for so many years and not used to work at all. A minimum requirement of Jhadu - Pocha - cleaning and dusting would be there in Hell also.
.
Cheers

Disgusting to say the least!!! Can't such blokes be barebottomed and spanked ???
.
Well done Veteran Nair in bringing it to the notice of all. It should be widely circulated to expose the spineless commanders

I am really surprised at the comments from our veterans about the interaction of the Air Chief with some School Kids. We may be frustrated on many counts but that need not entail us openly express immature comments. What do you as a mature person, will say to these kids or even expect a Chief who is heading a prestigious organisation reply to a question posed by a School boy?. Should he say that "OROP is a Good Concept and Govt should immediately approve it". As regards to other question regarding Bureaucrats , do you expect him to say that " I am dealing with them regularly. But I find them totally clueless". Common on friends. Let us display some maturity. Let us not call our commanders as "spineless" based on some interaction with School Kids. Sorry to be frank in expressing my views in this open forum. *

Dear All,
ReplyDeleteAnother immature comment from me till maturity is attained.
Such has been, is and shall remain the thinking of those closely associated with the policy makers ; whether in the services, the Government machinery or any society , wherein the voice of the righteous has been gagged and chocked for those handful of immediate beneficiaries to prosper .
And that brings us to our present pathetic state whether as ordinary citizens , the serving lot or us the veterans who are out with a begging Bowl on the streets , telling the nation that we are disciplined, gentlemen and are asking for some alms which the just people now say is the part of your deferred payments.
It is not the interaction with some school children, but a forecast that the pay and salaries also may not be given if the Government CONVENIENTLY feels burdened. 'Also, I shall continue following the RM's dictate - 'Zero Tolerance on Corruption in the Armed Forces', but be a mute spectator to the open loot of public's thousands of crores of Rupees be it CWG , where a host pf my men were put to assist AND SOME OF THEM CLOSELY LINKED, or hundreds of similar loots termed for gentlemen like us as 'SCAMS'.'
Wishing more of such encouraging emails to drive me faster to maturity.
With warm Regards
VPS
Dear Veterans,
ReplyDeleteNair has done a good job by bringing to our notice the comments of CAS and opening our eyes to what they think about Veterans. But, Murugan's lessons on maturity cannot be justified under any cicumstances, whosoever be the audience, whether kids or senior citizens. A CAS is just not expected to make immature or hypcritical statements, without properly realising the consequences, as well as without knowing the related facts, which tend to jeopardise or compromise the struggle which all the veterans' organisations are involved in for over 26 years.
If we argue on what he could have said about OROP or bureaucracy- we grant him wisdom enough to exercise various options on these two pointed questions, as also to give neutral comments or even declining any comments- but certainly without negating the OROP, the way he has done or undermining his on position in praising bureaucracy outright, which no one in the country ever does. I personally do not feel, that any of our colleagues have given any immature remarks except Murugan himself who does not seem to be realising the blunder committeed by the CAS.
Unfotunately, I personally feel that in one shot, without branding his comments, as not serious, he has put to nought, majority of the reasoning put forward by these gentlmen, to press for OROP. It can only be surmised, and is very likely that the three Chiefs have been indoctrinated by the government and bureaucracy to spread the message of lack of finances and bankruptcy, amongst the veterans for obvious reasons ie to reject it whenever there is political even legal pressure to grant it. Although, this presumption would be undigestable by the veterans, yet I only hope that I am wrong in my apprehension.
In spite of all, what we are seeing and hearing, let us not be drowned in gloom spreading all around.
